Working with Election Offices

We work directly with elections offices and nonprofit organizations on challenging design problems at every stage of the elections process. Our work starts with understanding the present, then reimagining how to improve a single form or an entire process.

Throughout it all, we aim to help you do your work better.

How we work with elections offices

Whether your elections office is in the middle of implementing an entirely new policy, or simply updating an old form and could use another set of eyes, we’re here to support you.

Types of projects that we do include:

  • Quick reviews and coaching as you update your election materials
  • Updating forms and other election materials, working closely with you
  • Usability testing to make sure everything work
  • Training for state and local elections offices

What you can expect

Collaboration is at the heart of our process. We bring our skills and best practices of civic design. You bring knowledge of the process and legal requirements. By partnering with us, your team will learn design skills they can continue to use long after our work together ends.

We’ll challenge you to think differently—not just getting the legal words onto a form, but creating a great voter experience. How might it be written and designed clearly, so everyone understands? How might it be easier and faster to process? What invites voters to participate and helps them complete a form accurately?
