Evie Lacroix

Civic Design Researcher 

Evie Lacroix is a Civic Design Researcher working on The US Alliance for Elections Excellence. They are researching the tools for implementing high integrity, comprehensive preparedness, voter-centricity, proactive transparency, and continuous improvement in election offices across the country. 

Prior to this role, they were CCD’s Operations Lead, working closely with the team to develop project management systems and streamline onboarding processes. They came to CCD after several years serving as an Americorps member with City Year Chicago, working with elementary students on the West Side of Chicago. She studied journalism and computer science at American University, where they wrote extensively on higher education and public education policy.

They live in Chicago. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, biking the lakefront trail, and researching new recipes from her library of cookbooks (28 books and counting).

Current and past projects include: 

  • Worked with the State of Pennsylvania to redesign Vote by Mail materials in English, Spanish, and Chinese. 
  • Worked with Microsoft’s Democracy Forward and Accessibility teams and Coforma.io to build Accessiblevoting.net. A website cataloging the accessible voting options in all 50 states.
