As a Research Practice Lead at the Center for Civic Design, Andrea focuses on driving and expanding innovative research methodologies. She brings her passion in human-centered and community-centered design to build creative participatory methods that strive to model ways of collaborative practices that are democratic and enable shared power.

Prior to Center for Civic Design, Andrea brings years of experience working in multi-stakeholder consulting projects, project managing, and leading qualitative user research across multiple sectors including non-profits, corporations, art and cultural institutions, and government.

Before her foray into social design, she had a decade-long career as an industrial design consultant for independent brands, design studios, and large corporate retailers. She has worked internationally alongside artisan communities on several social impact initiatives.

Andrea holds a MFA in Design for Social Innovation from the School of Visual Arts, and a BFA in Product Design from Parsons School of Design. Outside of work, she enjoys making things with her hands – from ceramics to textiles to gardening to cooking, and loves traveling and being outdoors.
