Tasmin Swanson

Tasmin

Tasmin is a civic designer and the communications lead at Center for Civic Design. She is passionate about supporting local leaders to build a more inclusive democracy.

During the 2020 election, Tasmin was the Director of Programs at Baltimore Votes, coordinating city-wide GOTV and voter education grounded in community, collaboration, and celebration. Projects included running Adopt-a-Vote Center, vote-by-mail 101 webinars, and operations for Party at the Mailbox (in partnership with Black Girls Vote). She also supports the growing Maryland Civic Education Coalition.

Her lifelong interest in community-centered work has led her to China where she served as a Peace Corps volunteer, DC where she worked in development at two regional theaters, and Scotland where she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of St. Andrews.

At Center for Civic Design, Tasmin:

  • Tells CCD’s story through our website, social media, and newsletters
  • Supported voters and elections departments adapt to all of the changes 2020 brought to voting through projects including HealthyVoting.org and Operation Envelope
  • Provides ongoing support to county and state-level elections offices in Pennsylvania and other states
